You can go to their website for a description of the workshop and details about the presenter. Registration is done online. Please note that the webinars are scheduled for Eastern Standard Time. The speaker for this webinar will be Natalia Aíza \, LPC\, who is a therapist\, parent trainer\, an author\, and a facilitator to other mental health providers in improving their skills in working with those who have OCD. She is the founder of Kairos Wellness Collective specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. SUMMARY:PACER Center Online Streaming Workshop: Understanding special education for your Native American child
DESCRIPTION:PACER Center began in 1977 with one program called Parents Helping Parents.  It is a nonprofit organization located in Bloomington\, MN\, and for 49 years its mission has been to educate and support parents and families who have children with disabilities. Today PACER is nationally recognized for its ongoing work and dedicated staff.  They provide a wide variety of services not only to children but to their parents\, siblings\, grandparents\, and other family members.  PACER also has educational information in Hmong\, Spanish\, and Somali.  Their current workshops are all Online Web Streaming and are free.  You must register in advance online and then you will receive directions on how to join the workshop on the day of the event. \nTheir Toll-Free number is 800-537-2237. \nThe presenter for this event will be PACER’s Native American family advocate who will speak to Naive American parents & families\, caregivers\, and guardians on getting a better understanding of special education. Participants will learn about the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the Individuals with Disabilities Educations Act (IDEA). They will also learn how to increase their parent involvement and advocacy in the school communities. DESCRIPTION:Updated 03/18/2026 – Please Note: The Family Support Group meetings have changed the meeting format from Zoom to a new program called Hey Peers. This new program is designed for support group meetings to give participants better security and other upgrades. Support group meetings will continue to be via Hey Peers on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm and you must register online.  Please go to their website Home page for further details on the change in the format. The NAMI MN website also has more information on the new format.
