Today PACER is nationally recognized for its ongoing work and dedicated staff.  They provide a wide variety of services not only to children but to their parents\, siblings\, grandparents\, and other family members.  PACER also has educational information in Hmong\, Spanish\, and Somali.  Their current workshops are all Online Web Streaming and are free.  You must register in advance online and then you will receive directions on how to join the workshop on the day of the event. \nTheir Toll-Free number is 800-537-2237. \nIn this workshop parents will learn about assistive technology options and how to establish it in the Individual Family Service Plan\, (IFSP) and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. You will learn about the technology devices that can help support young kids with disabilities age five and under.

It is a series of workshops that allows parents and professionals to come together and learn from one another. Parents who are raising a child with disabilities can often feel alone and misunderstood. In this workshop parents will learn how to build and strengthen their advocacy skills through building a network of friends\, peers groups\, support groups\, and community programs. PACER is presenting this workshop in partnership with Family Voices of Minnesota.

SUMMARY:Groves Learning Organization Event: Experience Dyslexia Simulation
DESCRIPTION:Groves Learning Organization (GLO) is a nonprofit educational organization where students who have different learning difficulties and attention disorders can go to school to learn and thrive.  Groves Academy\, located in St. Louis Park\, Minnesota\, is the leading school in the Midwest where they teach students who have dyslexia\, ADHD\, executive function difficulties\, and other language-based learning disabilities in grades 1-12. They offer webinars and in-person events for the community and families through their GLO Education Series. Registration is done online and the events are free. \nThis in-person event will allow participants to experience the challenges that students and adults face with language-based learning disorders. After the simulation there will be discussions where participants can share what they learned and discuss ways to provide support. Please be sure to arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for checking-in.
