SUMMARY:PACER Center Online Streaming Workshop: Social Security Disability: Applying and Qualifying for Benefits
DESCRIPTION:PACER Center began in 1977 with one program called Parents Helping Parents.  It is a nonprofit organization located in Bloomington\, MN\, and for 49 years its mission has been to educate and support parents and families who have children with disabilities. Today PACER is nationally recognized for its ongoing work and dedicated staff.  They provide a wide variety of services not only to children but to their parents\, siblings\, grandparents\, and other family members.  PACER also has educational information in Hmong\, Spanish\, and Somali.  Their current workshops are all Online Web Streaming and are free.  You must register in advance online and then you will receive directions on how to join the workshop on the day of the event. \nTheir Toll-Free number is 800-537-2237. \nPACER will explain why Social Security Income (SSI) is one of the most important federal assistance programs for young adults who have disabilities and how you can apply for the benefits.
