PACER Center began in 1977 with one program called Parents Helping Parents. It is a nonprofit organization located in Bloomington, MN, and for 43 years its mission has been to educate and support parents and families who have children with disabilities. Today PACER is nationally recognized for its ongoing work and dedicated staff. They provide a wide variety of services not only to children but to their parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members. PACER also has educational information in Hmong, Spanish, and Somali. Their current workshops are all Online Web Streaming and are free. You must register in advance online and then you will receive directions on how to join the workshop on the day of the event.

Participants in this workshop will learn how a child is determined to be eligible for special education, the next steps you will have to take once eligibility is determined, the required parts of the IEP, and the important parent action items after their child has an IEP.
