PACER Center began in 1977 with one program called Parents Helping Parents.  It is a nonprofit organization located in Bloomington, MN, and for 43 years its mission has been to educate and support parents and families who have children with disabilities. Today PACER is nationally recognized for its ongoing work and dedicated staff.  They provide a wide variety of services not only to children but to their parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members.  PACER also has educational information in Hmong, Spanish, and Somali.  Their current workshops are all Online Web Streaming and are free.  You must register in advance online and then you will receive directions on how to join the workshop on the day of the event.

This event is PACER’s Minnesota Statewide Family Engagement Center (MNSFEC) recruitment of parents and caregivers to their annual Parent Leadership Training for Educational Advocacy which will be on September 22nd and 23rd. This is a two-day training for those who have one or more children who are in regular education and want to develop leadership and educational advocacy skills. Please Note: Special education issues will not be the main focus of this event. The application deadline for this event is September 1, 2023. Applications may now be submitted.
