Anxiety and Depression of America (ADAA) began with a phobia meeting in 1978 in White Plains, New York. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health disorder and is one of the most treatable. ADDA has been working to improve research, education, and treatment to find the cure for anxiety disorders and depression for the past 40 years. Registration is done online.
The speakers for this live event will be Mary K. Alvord, PhD, Lindsay Myerberg, PhD, and Rachel Weinstock, PhD, who will speak on the ways to build resilience in kids and adolescents. Participants will learn how helping kids and teens develop a special interest or talent can build a strong protective factor for them. You will also learn how to help them identify their talents and interests, how that helps them build confidence and coping skills, and how sharing interests gives them balance and connection.
