Life Skills Checklist | The Best Time To Prepare For College Is Today
by Lee Gehrls R&D Coordinator (Volunteer)
Whether you or your teen are getting ready to go to college or move away from home for the first time, it can be nerve-wracking. Wondering how they’ll do, whether they’ll succeed, whether they’ll wash their sheets or do the dishes correctly, eat the right foods, and on.
That’s why I’m so glad to have found an amazing resource – a comprehensive Life Skills Checklist compiled by Dr. Maggie Wray, Ph.D., of Creating Positive Futures.
Your teen will need many of these skills to go off to school or to live on their own. Hopefully you have been working on these skills – but, if not, the time to start is NOW to prepare them for their next step in life.
They don’t have to know ALL of these skills by the time they move into their apartment/dorm/shared house, but this list gives them the skills they will need in life so you can continue to work on the list with your son or daughter.
