Did you know that according to Google’s Gemini, ADHD is one of the most researched and validated psychiatric disorders? This finding is supported by the increasing number of studies that continue to be published for review by professionals who diagnose and treat ADHD. For those of us in the ADHD community, that means that we have to continue to learn about new organizations that provide evidence-based information. This month, I would like to introduce you to Mindful Choices for ADHD, which is a new, nonpartisan association launched on September 25, 2025. They are made up of ADHD researchers, clinicians, patients, and community leaders, and the innovation sector, whose goal is to encourage thoughtful dialogue and evidence-focused policies concerning ADHD diagnosis and treatment. Through professional evidence and personal life experience, the group contributes fact-based information to the ongoing discussion about the issues of ADHD in youth, adults, families, and professionals. The formation of the group was featured in an article by Maya Goldman from Axios, published on September 26, 2025 –New ADHD lobbying coalition launches.
In their first press release announcing the launch of the association, Mindful Choices noted the following:
“ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions in the world and affects an estimated 21.5 million U.S. children and adults, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Common as it may be, ADHD is also a complex condition that shows up differently from one patient to another. Even so, misperceptions and inconsistent public messaging about ADHD cloud public understanding. This reality has resulted in regular overdiagnosis and underdiagnosis of the condition and has invited questions about whether policy changes are needed to address this imbalance.”
Their Steering Committee includes well-known names, including three professionals who have been in past issues of our newsletter: Jeff Copper – ADHD Coach, Stephen Faraone, PhD, and David Goodman, MD. Here is the complete list:

Mindful Choices for ADHD is still a new resource; however, they will be adding additional information to their website, so you will want to continue to check back for the updates. ADHD is no longer recognized as a ‘one-size-fits-all’ diagnosis and treatment plan. It is recognized as a complex disorder, and every person who has ADHD is unique and needs a treatment plan that fits their needs. I encourage you to spend some time reviewing this new organization and see if it might be a new addition to your ADHD Library and ADHD Tool Kit.
